School Notes

Fall registration. Open now at the district office for all three schools. New families are asked to bring proof of residence; returning families are asked, mostly, to update a phone number nobody has changed since 2014.

Fall sports physicals. Wednesday, August 5, in the Lakeside gym — bring the form, the fee, and proof you can touch your toes or a note explaining why not. Denny Dahl posts practice times the same week.

The Spelldown. The first Doris Knutson Spelldown is set for the last Friday of September, Lakeside gym, grades three through six. Certificates in green ink. A pronouncer has not been named; several retired teachers have already declined, citing nerves.

New faces. Paul Reardon takes the science rooms this fall, and Megan Tollefson joins Oakview once the library releases her (see News). The custodians are waxing floors no one may walk on until September, which is how they prefer them.
