Notice of Public Hearing
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Misquah will hold a public hearing on the proposed installation of a fourth traffic-control sign at the intersection of Birch Street and Second Avenue, on the 14th day of July, 2026, at 7:00 o’clock p.m., at City Hall. All interested persons may appear and be heard, or may decline to, as has been the custom.
Notice of Intoxicating Liquor License Renewals
The following establishments have applied for renewal of their on- and off-sale licenses for the term commencing July 1, 2026: Tim’s Bait & Liquor; Knute’s Tap; and Loon Ridge Resort & Golf. Objections, if any, shall be filed with the Clerk, though none are anticipated, this being the fifty-fifth such renewal without incident.
Summary of Proceedings — City Council
At its regular meeting of June 8, 2026, the Council: formed a subcommittee to study a proposed sign; accepted forty-one folding chairs from the VFW (38 functional); approved the seasonal opening of the public landing; and adjourned at 8:12 p.m. Full minutes are on file with the Clerk and available to anyone willing to ask Donna for them.
Notice to Creditors
IN RE: ESTATE OF ORVILLE T. TOLLEFSON, Deceased. Notice is given that creditors having claims against the above estate are required to present the same to the personal representative within the time provided by law. Said estate includes one boat, which is not for sale to anybody from the lake.
Notice of Annual Meeting
The Mud Lake Property Owners’ Association gives notice that its annual meeting has been held and adjourned. The pie social will reconvene Sunday at the Daybreak Café. The lake remains, in the Association’s official position, underrated.
Certificate of Assumed Name
Notice is given of the filing of an assumed name: “The Weekly Holler,” to be used by The Misquah Pilot-Independent for its electronic newsletter and nothing else.
Advertisement for Bids — Township Road
Birch Lake Township will receive sealed bids for the grading and graveling of approximately 1.4 miles of Township Road 7 until 10:00 a.m. on July 1, 2026. The Township reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to mutter about them either way.
