Fri., Sep. 25. HOMECOMING. Parade 4 p.m. downtown, ending at the fire hall. Coronation 5:15, gym. FIRST DORIS KNUTSON SPELLDOWN, 6:30, gym, grades 3–6. Kickoff 7 vs. Pine City. Football parks north; Spelldown parks south.

Sat., Sep. 26. Cross country at Braham, 10 a.m. HARVEST MOON, rising full about twenty minutes after sunset. Martinez truck in the alley.

Sun., Sep. 27. Worship: First Lutheran 9 (“On Patience,” Part Fourteen), Methodist 8 and 10:30. Story time, library, 10:30 a.m.

Week of Oct. 12. The fourth stop sign is scheduled for installation at Birch and Second, sixty-nine years after it was first petitioned for.

Second week of October. Docks out at Loon Ridge. The resort closes the third week. Turnover on the Chain begins, historically, the same fortnight.

Wed., Oct. 21. School picture retakes.

Sat., Oct. 24. Loon Ridge closes for the season, weather permitting, as it has the third week of October since 1994.

Tue., Nov. 3. GENERAL ELECTION. Polls 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., city hall.

First week of November. The deer sheet goes up in the Daybreak window, as it has every year, put there by somebody who will not identify himself.
