The smoke relocated the last mornings indoors, the green-and-gold acoustics added what Director Moe calls “free reverb,” and the lawn concert is confirmed for Thursday, August 13, at 7 p.m., air permitting.

With the outdoors canceled, the record summer-reading class arrived all at once and stayed. Megan Tollefson kept the desk, the beanbags rotated on a system, and the animal-sticker ladder gained a rung in ink.

Lawn concert. Thursday, August 13, 7 p.m., school lawn. Bring chairs; the school owns forty and knows its town. Rain date the following evening, unneeded per tradition.
Fall registration. Continues at the district office. New families: proof of residence. Returning families: the phone number, which nobody has updated since 2014, and the office knows who you are.
Class lists. Mailed from the district office in mid-August, per custom and no earlier, whatever is asked. Room 6 at Oakview is, per its occupant, ready regardless.
Fall sports physicals. Wednesday, August 5, Lakeside gym. Bring the form, the fee, and the toes. Denny Dahl posts practice times the same week.
The Spelldown. Last Friday of September, Lakeside gym, grades three through six — now with its pronouncer secured (see story above). Word lists remain in the district vault, in green ink, where Mr. Brekke has been permitted one supervised warm-up visit.
