FOURTH NOTICE — ZUCCHINI. The bread phase continues and the squash has not gotten the message about August. Loaves at the Dahlquist step; raw material by the pail, you know the porch. New this cycle: the box reports someone has begun leaving RECIPES in it, which the box considers escalation and the column considers correct.

FREE. Dill, more than was planned, which is the only amount dill comes in. Bring shears and ambition. The pickles are entered; the dill knows what it’s for.

Lost & Found

CLAIMED. The plaid lawn chair, fourth of its kind to enter the summer record, was claimed Thursday at the ordinary sunset by its owner, who came for the sky and left with the chair. The desk notes the system works and the chairs, as suspected, know something.

FOUND. One bird list, spiral notebook, near the bay, entries dating to 1994, recent pages annotated with observations the finder describes as “not entirely about birds.” Owner may claim at the Pilot-Independent office, where it is being read respectfully and, we admit, with interest.

LOST. The copier’s cooperation, Lakeside school office, last seen in July. Reward: the practice schedules, posted on time. See Mr. Dahl, who is not joking.

WANTED — UPDATE. Lawn chairs for the August 13 concert: sixty-three pledged of an estimated two hundred. The school thanks the early movers and reminds the town that a marked chair is a returned chair. The casserole rules apply; the concert is in nine days.

YARD WORK. Responsible sixth-grader, rates unchanged, outdoor operations resumed Wednesday with the air. August openings limited; fair week is fully booked, in the sense that the sixth-grader intends to attend the fair.
