Obituaries in This Edition

There are no obituaries to report this week, and the Pilot-Independent records the fact with frank relief. Another week has passed on the Chain with no one lost from it — the arithmetic, for once, running only upward (see News, where two June babies have at last sent Earl up the ladder). We will note, as we always do, that the absence of an obituary is not the absence of an occasion. It is simply the happiest kind of slow news, and we are glad, this week, to have nothing here to tell you.
