Our View
Our View: Geese Are Not a Comprehensive Plan
Geese are a fact of lake life, not a municipal philosophy. They may be loud, abundant, and convinced of their rights, but they should not determine the council agenda by sheer confidence.
The city can post signs, clean parks, and remind people not to feed them. It cannot negotiate with them, despite what was suggested during public comment.
We recommend practical management, fewer speeches, and a civic understanding that not every creature standing on grass has standing at City Hall.
Letters to the Editor
From the Mail Slot
- To the Editor: I support the turtle line. It is the first road marking in town with compassion. — S.H.
- To the Editor: If people do not want geese on the golf course, they should stop making such nice grass. — Name withheld, possibly by spouse
