To the Editor:

I have now lost two houses to somebody’s handwriting and I would like to be allowed to find that funny, which I do, and also to say that it is not funny, which it also is not.

I do not blame Donna Skoglund. She caught it herself and said so immediately, which is more than most people would have done, and anybody in this town who wants to make a joke at her expense should first go read their own minutes from a meeting two weeks ago and see how they do.

I do think the board got it wrong Thursday, and I think Curt Ellefson said why better than I can. If sixteen is the right number, vote for sixteen with your eyes open. Do not keep sixteen because a pen slipped and the result was agreeable. Those are different, and the difference is the only thing standing between a public record and a nice story.

I filed for council in August, before any of this. People are going to say I filed because of the pasture. I filed because I have rented here for nine years and I am tired of being the person who says the thing at the meeting and then goes home with no vote in it. That is the whole reason. It is not a very dramatic one.
