The chute. Our September 15 edition reported that four volunteers were needed at the cross country home meet. The sign-up sheet at the school office asked for six, and had asked for six since the first week of September. This newspaper printed the number the coach gave it and did not check it against the sheet, which was eleven feet from the counter where we were standing.

Six people worked the chute Saturday, so no harm came of it. The error is ours. It was pointed out, immediately and cheerfully, by the district secretary, who keeps the sheet.
