The Misquah Pilot-Independent is an ongoing work of fiction — a weekly newspaper from a Minnesota lake town that exists only in these pages. Every name, event, business, and pumpkin is invented.

Correspondence about the project — kind words, corrections to the fictional record, letters to the fictional editor — is welcome at editor@misquahpilot.com.

Letters addressed to Marvella Tollefson will be read in her voice, which is the closest thing to delivery the postal situation allows. Corrections remain rare, and cheerfully entertained.

There is no physical office. There is, however, in some better world, a front room in an old creamery on Birch Street, and the coffee there is on.
